Overview

LetReach enables online businesses to re-engage and retain users by delivering app-like alerts directly to desktops and mobile devices, bypassing the limitations of declining email open rates.

As the lead for UX, UI, and Graphics, I spearheaded the end to end design of LetReach, India’s first SaaS marketing platform dedicated to web push notifications.

My role was to transform a technical utility into a high performance growth tool that helps websites reengage users outside of traditional channels like email. I managed the creation of the marketer’s command center, the subscriber facing interaction logic, and the company’s first unified design system.

Problem LetReach Strived to Solve

Marketers faced a “leaky bucket” syndrome where high-cost traffic failed to convert due to low retention and over-saturated communication channels like email or social media.

LetReach aimed to provide a technical bridge that allowed websites to communicate with their audience even when users were not actively browsing the site.

Objectives

  • Drive User Retention: Build a B2B dashboard that provided immediate “visceral” and “reflective” value to marketers through clear analytics and performance feedback.
  • Architect Complex Workflows: Design a modular system for A/B testing, RSS automation, and drip sequences that feel intuitive rather than overwhelming.
  • Lower Technical Barriers: Transform the intimidating process of “pixel installation” into a frictionless, guided onboarding journey.
  • Designing for the “End-Subscriber” Experience: The true measure of LetReach’s success was the performance of the notifications themselves. We had to ensure these alerts were not perceived as “spam,” but as valuable, timely service updates.

Research

Conducted a multi-layered research phase to identify why users were churning and where the platform was failing to communicate its value
  • Internal Discovery & Stakeholder Interviews: Collaborated closely with Product Managers and engineers to synthesize direct customer feedback into actionable UX improvements. We identified that while the tech was robust, the “Time to First Value” was too long.
  • Competitive & Market Analysis: Analyzed the decline of traditional email open rates versus the rise of app-like browser alerts to define the product’s unique value proposition. I studied global SaaS competitors to ensure our dashboard met international B2B standards for release velocity and brand consistency.
  • Journey Mapping: Mapped the “Marketer’s Path to First Value” to identify emotional highs and lows. This research revealed a critical emotional low point: the “Zero Data” state where users saw a blank graph immediately after signup, leading to a high abandonment rate.
  • Service Design Audit: Performed a service audit to understand the “Invisible Hand-offs” required for the product to work. I discovered that the “Pixel Installation” was a multi-person hurdle, marketers often had the intent but lacked the technical access, creating a bottleneck that required a service-level solution.
  • Behavioral & Emotional Analysis: Investigated “Automation Anxiety”, the fear marketers felt about losing control over automated sequences. This research informed the need for “Agency-First” UI, ensuring every sequence had high-visibility Play, Pause, and Edit controls to provide reflective security to the user.

Design Process & Modules

A. The Command Center

The Snapshot page serves as the user’s visceral and reflective home base.
  • Instant Validation: High level metric cards provide immediate feedback on total reach and monthly growth.
  • The Almost there! Nudge: A pinned progress map keeps technical milestones like pixel installation top of mind without being intrusive.
  • Empathetic Empty States: Used playful illustrations and “visceral rewards” to maintain engagement before the first campaign.

B. Precision Campaign Creator & Notification Design

The effectiveness of the design was rooted in the performance of the notifications themselves.
  • WYSIWYG Previewer: Designed a real time previewer so marketers could see exactly how their rich media and CTAs appeared on different devices.
  • Anatomy of Engagement: Integrated support for emojis, secondary large images, and multi action CTA buttons to turn passive alerts into active conversion tools.
  • Behavioral Triggers: Built advanced logic for adaptive timing and expiry settings to ensure notifications remained relevant and non intrusive.

C. Advanced Automation & Segmentation

  • AB Testing UI: A side by side comparison dashboard with a distinct Winner! badge to help marketers make data driven copy decisions instantly.
  • Segmentation Engine: Designed a multi step modal flow and a robust filter matrix with real time audience size feedback.
  • Drip Funnel Automation:Created a centralized management interface for automated sequences, ensuring long term subscriber nurturing was set and forget yet fully controllable

D. Settings & Technical Infrastructure

  • Technical Milestone Rewards: Transformed the Verify Pixel task into a celebratory moment with a Superhero success modal, providing a strong reflective reward.
  • Permission Based Gating: Designed adaptive UI states for critical GCM settings to prevent accidental downtime by unauthorized users.

Results

At its peak, LetReach established itself as a dominant force in the Indian SaaS market, serving as a primary re-engagement engine for thousands of online businesses. The platform effectively bridged the gap in digital marketing by managing massive datasets of over 50,000 targeted subscribers per client.

By facilitating millions of timely, app-like browser alerts, LetReach moved beyond being a simple utility to becoming a high-performance growth tool that defined the first generation of web push notifications in the region.
